Glazing system manufacturer fined after worker’s hand injured in saw

Alco Glass Systems Limited of Aldershot, Hampshire were fined £7,500 and ordered to pay £1,895 in costs after a worker suffered serious injuries to their hand from an unguarded saw.

The company pleaded guilty to breaching regulations 8(1) and 11(1) of the Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations (PUWER) 1998 at Redhill Magistrates Court.
